The Percussive Arts Society International Convention this past week was truly amazing. I had the wonderful honor of presenting a world percussion clinic on Saturday of the convention with the world renown percussionist Daniel "Tatita" Marquez and my student Cami Mennette! It was on the drums of Uruguay called Candombe and it was a great session.
My next article for School Band and Orchestra Magazine is in the November issue - give it a read! Pages 24/25.
Also thanks to Doug Perkins I had the chance to perform John Luther Adams' Inuksuit again, but this time at a 11,000 acre sculpture ranch in Montana. Great experience that I was able to share with some of the students from the studio! (pics on right)
BUT, best news of all - UW-Eau Claire finally got all of our world percussion gear! We finally got our shipment of $31,000 worth of instruments and needless to say it's going to change things for UW-Eau Claire!
